The Verdalselva is considered one of the best salmon rivers in the country. Every year, large numbers of Atlantic salmon migrate upriver to spawn, providing excellent opportunities for anglers.

For those who prefer lake fishing, the area around Verdal also offers several lakes rich in various fish species.

In Verdal you can also fjord fish both from land and at sea.
Fjord fishing has long traditions in Verdal. Here you can crochet herring and jig for cod, pollock and a number of other species. Verdal is located in the heart of the Trondheimsfjord, and here you will find a variety of marine treasures.

In Verdal there are also two marinas. Trones Boat Owners' Association and Verdal boat owners' association
